A member of AAMG since 1987, Dr. Champeau is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pediatrics. He has a special interest in pediatric anesthesia. Dr. Champeau was President of the California Society of Anesthesiologists in 2008-2009.

He has been an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology since 1991, and was President of the Medical Staff at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital from 2014 to 2016, Dr. Champeau is currently the President of the Stanford Anesthesia Alumni Association and is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Anesthesia at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

From October 2022 – October 2023, Dr. Champeau is the President of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
