A member of AAMG since 1987, Dr. Champeau was board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pediatrics. He had a special interest in pediatric anesthesia. Dr. Champeau was President of the California Society of Anesthesiologists in 2008-2009.
He was an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology since 1991, and was President of the Medical Staff at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital from 2014 to 2016, Dr. Champeau was a past President of the Stanford Anesthesia Alumni Association and was an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Anesthesia at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
From October 2022 – October 2023, Dr. Champeau was the President of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Champeau retired from clinical practice in 2025.
